I gave you a 5 with 2 1/2 flaws
This bike is very impressive for the price if it was metal I I would forget the other flaws the display is not much to talk about so I won't the odometer only goes to 33 miles 7 short 4 me I would have paid a extra $100 if that and the display was bigger and better and you can hear a little noise but not loud enough to be annoying ride real nice love the freaking 44 pound fly wheel it makes the ride real smooth like heaven the post for the sit is loose since I am being honest but all exercise bike sit post are but I found away to make it real sturdy I am happy with the purchase had a Bowflex and was going to go back that way glad I didn't
Bought the leg extension but a pressed bearing ring was missing. They jumped and sent me all three sizes to make sure I got the right one. Solid machine too.
Way sturdier than I thought. Itβs a solid piece of equipment. Also, I really like the company. When the box arrived there was a huge hole from shipping. I was missing a pressed bearing seal. When I reached out to Atlas they immediately sent me all 3 bearing sizes just make sure I had the right one. So happily I picked their leg extension.
I just received and assembled my AL 3036 leg extension leg curl machine. I chose this particular brand over all the others because they use 12 gauge versus 14 gauge steel so it's stronger. Everything about this machine is a slight step up in quality compared to the rest and I was willing to pay the extra $100 for it. Upon use it feels like a strong, solid piece of equipment, adjustments were fairly easy and the range of motion and resistance for extensions and curls felt great.
I looked a lot at the other popular 2 plate loaded cable leg extension/curl machine and wasn't quite sold on them so I took the plunge with the AL-169 despite there not being many reviews out there. For the most part I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
First off the base is very solid when assembled. The wide flat feet definitely aid the stability of the base while still allowing a fairly generous overall footprint. The back and seat mostly feel solid as well. The seat sometimes will rock a little bit on the adjustment pivot but if you anchor yourself down with the grab handles you will eliminate that little bit of movement. The leg roller is also very solid. A 10/10 for me. I often do single leg extensions and there is no unwanted movement on the roller bar at all. My only complaint is that if you do not have yourself adjusted proper in an exercise and extend the roller out too far its possible to leverage the weight up in a way that the weight horn/leg gets stuck up in the air.
It's pretty obvious that leg extension was the primary focus when this machine was engineered. It's a great leg extension piece. The large dial could probably use another notch or two but with the leg roller having a 360 degree dial I think most people will be able to get dialed in regardless. The motion and resistance are exactly what you want/expect.
The lying leg curl almost seems like an afterthought. While the backrest folds down and is very solid flat its the adjusting of the leg roller and pivot that gets a bit tedious. This is where I feel you'll notice the padding on the machine, while not low quality foam, could use a little more thickness. This is also where if you are not careful or have it adequately adjusted it is very easy to lift the leg roller up high enough and overextend the cable causing the weight horn leg(which angle does not do it any favors in this instance) to fully extend and get rested on the top end. Little awkward feeling when the weight just suddenly disappears at the top of the movement. I really enjoy lying leg curls but I find them a little problematic on this machine. That being said if you get everything adjusted right they do hit the spot. Some people may want a little pad to fill the gap between the seat and back but I find it okay as it is.
The hip thrust on this machine genuinely surprised me. I have often left hip thrusts out of my routines over the years because they're not always the most convenient exercise to setup but now I feel I have the tool to bring them back in. Very easy to get into position and again with the 360 degree leg roller its just very easy to slide in and bang some thrusts out. The padding here although on the thinner side doesn't pose any issues for me comfort wise but again I could see where maybe some people add a little pad on the seat for their back in this instance.
Overall happy with the purchase and still give it a 5/5. Anything I pointed out I do not see as a big enough issue to look for something else. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better machine at this price point.
The Leg Curl & Extension Station functions well beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this for anyone building a home gym. Super solid piece of equipment.
